Rules
Everything you need to know about Mühle.
🎯 Objective
Reduce your opponent's stones to 2 stones, or block all their moves so they cannot make any more.
⬡ The Board
The board consists of 3 concentric squares with 8 positions each, connected by lines at the midpoints of the sides – 24 positions in total. Each player starts with 9 stones.
🔄 Game Phases
Placing
Both players alternately place one stone on any free position until all 18 stones (9 × 2) have been placed.
Moving
Stones are moved to a directly adjacent free position. A player with exactly 3 stones may jump to any free position (Flying).
⚡ Mill
When 3 of your own stones are placed in a straight line, a mill is formed. The player may immediately remove any opponent stone from the board.
- • Stones from a closed mill may only be removed if no other stones are available.
- • A mill can be re-formed by moving a stone away and back.
🏁 End of Game
- ✗ A player has only 2 stones left on the board → Defeat
- ✗ A player has no more moves → Defeat
